Info from Sunday

Today we had our first day of work and it was fun. There was construction teams, electric teams, kids helping with the orphanage, dental and medial teams, and eye teams. A lot of them need glasses and so they had their eyes examined by the eye doctors. It was awesome to see the kids reactions when they got there new glasses for the first time and the ones who didn't need glasses got sunglasses.

A lot of the children have cavities and very very bad plaque on there teeth, so the dentist have to scrape all the plaque, then do the cavity fillings. Bri Johnson extracted two teeth from a child.

The nurses did check-ups and examined their hair for lice. Almost all the kids have lice so we have to be careful to not put our heads to close to theirs and not to wear any hats that they have, The nurses gave them de-worms and vitamins, they checked their heights.
A lot of the kids don't know their birthdays. Some of the kids have HIV and there is one little girl who has it and the other kids don't want to hang around with her and they are kind of mean to her. Its very sad. But when I took pictures of her and showed it to her she got super excited about it.

In the construction area they started to build a toilet for a family that has been praying for one. In the electric they started putting lights in the bathrooms.

Since the kids aren't in school today the people that help in the orphanage, are picking up trash instead and helping clean houses.
